Privacy policy
This explains what Trade Blocks collects when you use tradeblocks.uk, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to the minimum we need to run the site.
Who we are

If you don't make an account
You can use the whole free course without an account. Your lesson progress, quiz scores, daily challenge results and certificate name are saved in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. You can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
When someone finishes a lesson, finishes the course or downloads a certificate, we count it anonymously: just what happened and when, with no name, email or device details.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites. It tells us things like which pages are popular and roughly which country visits come from.
If you make an account
When you sign up we store:
- Your email address, and a securely hashed password if you use one. If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your email and basic profile name from them, never your password.
- Your profile: display name, the experience level you pick, your membership tier and whether you appear on the leaderboard.
- Your progress: which lessons you've finished, your best quiz scores and your daily challenge scores.
We use this to run your account: saving progress across devices, showing your level and rank, unlocking VIP lessons if you're a member, and showing your display name only on the daily leaderboard (you can turn that off). We never show your email publicly, never sell your data and don't use it for advertising. The legal basis is providing the service you've asked for.
Who processes it
- Supabase stores accounts and progress, on servers in London.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and provides the cookie-free visit counts.
- Google and Discord, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in. That's strictly necessary for the account to work, so there's no cookie banner.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can do that yourself at any time: sign in, open your account and choose Delete my account. It removes your account, progress and leaderboard history straight away.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
